Step 5:  Databases and Design Management

You can choose to manage your data in either a Microsoft Access database or an Excel spreadsheet.  The initial 1500 SKUs provided with the Designer is provided in both formats.

You can save a design, or save multiple versions of a design by saving with different version names.  A design can also be saved as a 'generic design', to use as a starting point for new quotations (e.g. "Generic 5.1  with Flat Screen Display").  If you begin with a saved generic design, you can modify any item by right clicking the shape and selecting a new item out of the database.

Multiple designs can be opened simultaneously, making it easy to compare them.
