Step 2:  The Back Panel View

If you have been working on another view and auto-generating alternate views, the back panel shapes for your design will be waiting for arrangement on the back panel view. Provided back panels are generic, but you can create your own custom back panels to represent equipment you frequently use.  A blank back panel and a variety of connectors are provided for this purpose.

You can drag and drop an audio or video cable, select a specific cable from your database, and manually connect it to the appropriate connectors.  Or you can use the Wiring Assistant, which makes this task much quicker and easier.

The Wiring Assistant allows you to select a piece of equipment, screen for a particular type of connector (e.g. "S Video", and select a specific connector.  Once 'from' and 'to' connectors are selected, a cable is picked from the database and the Wiring Assistant automatically connects them.  You can then adjust the cable routing for the look you desire.
