Hudson, OH, August 31, 2005 -- Apprentice Systems Inc. is releasing the new .NET version of its Product Configuration Solution, which helps companies capture their design knowledge and use it to automate the design and quotation of complex products and systems. Using the Apprentice Product Modeler 6.0, an organization can create its own custom product configuration application in a matter of weeks rather than the many months of effort required by other product configuration solutions.
“Not only does the Apprentice Product Modeler dramatically reduce the cycle time necessary to create a sophisticated product configuration application,” said Debra Walker, CEO, Apprentice Systems, “it also significantly reduces the cost of creating and maintaining such a system.”
“The key is that the Product Modeler’s approach of capturing knowledge through diagrams and wizard-like interfaces makes it possible for product experts to build their own models without the intervention of a system builder,” she said. “This means entire custom applications can be built without writing a line of code.”

The Apprentice Product Modeler 6.0 is a development platform for capturing product-oriented expertise and generating an XML Knowledge Model interpretable by the other half of the Apprentice Product Configuration Solution, Product Apprentice 6.0. The Product Apprentice can then be used by non-experts to design and quote complex products and systems, quickly and accurately.
